This request for Proposals (RFP) provides statewide funding for the implementation of energy conservation measures by small municipalities including energy efficiency improvements, renewable energy improvements, efficient transportation system implementation, material conservation, and energy management personnel.

NYSERDA has announced the availability of $24 million of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Funds for RFP 10: Implementation Funding for Small Municipalities. Funds will be awarded for eligible energy conservation projects. The stimulus funds will be awarded on a competitive basis through one selection round. Applications are due February 17, 2010.

This program is targeted at SMALL MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS Small Municipalities are eligible for Up To 100% Funding for the Implementation of Energy Conservation Measures Including:

  • Energy Efficiency Retrofits
  • Energy Efficiency and Conservation Programs for Buildings and Facilities
  • Renewable Energy - Solar Thermal, Fuel Cells, Small Wind, and Biomass
  • Efficient Transportation Systems
  • Material Conservation Programs - recycling, source reduction
  • Energy Conservation Personnel

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO GET STARTED:

  • Resources to hire a qualified firm or self-conduct an analysis for an energy efficiency, renewable energy, efficient transportation system, material conservation, or energy conservation personnel project; or
  • A previously completed energy study ready for implementation.
This year, LARSEN ENGINEERS has successfully helped four local communities to secure New York State GIGP- Green infrastructure grants ranging from $280,000 to $1.7 Million dollars, and five communities to secure NYSERDA PON 0004 grants for $30,000 each to conduct energy conservation studies.

We will be happy to assist you with each step of the EECBG process -- from the energy study, EECBG grant application, planning, design of energy conservation measures, to implementation upon award.
